Hi! I'm Maeve and I'm from Belfast, Northern Ireland but currently live in Surrey, England where I am Head of Art at a secondary school. Even though I consider myself an illustrator now, I actually studied Textile Art as my degree, which I completed in 2015. I like to think this is where my love for texture has come from! Read more →

Hi! I’m Ruth, and I currently reside in a small country village in Norfolk, England. I have always been creative and love to doodle. As a kid I would constantly doodle all over my workbooks in school! I studied animation at university and since graduating I have worked as a freelance illustrator for The Bright Agency. I love picture books and creating exciting stories in my head so feel very lucky to be working in children’s illustration at the moment! I also love creating fun, silly characters and will occasionally dabble in animation as well.

Hi! I love long walks and hiking trails, fresh baked bread straight from the oven, and sunny parks with lots of grassy hills; they make for the best reading spots. I have a professional background in digital marketing within the publishing industry, but have recently made the switch to working for a non-profit organization specializing in supporting libraries, a job change I’m very excited about. One big thing about me is I’m a huge bookworm. The other, is that I never leave my house without a sketchbook and a prisma pencil. I’m mostly self-taught, and have just recently made a serious commitment to learning more about children’s book illustration. So far I'm taking classes, developing my portfolio, and just soaking in as much as I can (and meeting some fabulous artists along the way!)

Hi, I’m Josie, a self-taught illustrator from Hampshire in the UK. I live on the edge of a small town with my husband and son and our beautiful rescue dog Mary. One of my earliest memories is of me sitting drawing with my Grandma on a small lined notepad using only a biro. And I have been told I once taught my little sister how to draw a teddy bear on the living room wall! At the moment I am working on a children’s picture book with a hope of getting an agent or even published. During the day I work as an English tutor supporting children with learning.

Hi there, I live in the leafy London suburbs in a Victorian cottage with my husband, two kids, two bunnies and an old bagpuss. My background is in video editing and motion design and I’ve been freelancing in this for the last 13 or so years. I’ve always drawn since I was young and it’s always been a hobby of mine. The real focus on my art and drawing for kids came about when I had kids myself! For the past 5 years or so I’ve been taking A LOT of courses in children’s illustration and investing a lot of time in my sketchbook, finding my style and learning more about the industry. I also write, so have plenty of kids' book ideas going on in the background, this gives me a lot of focus for my art too.

Hello! I'm Megan! Talking about yourself sure is hard sometimes isn't it? My background is actually in history and then I went on to study education. I work as a teacher full time now and make art in the evenings or on weekends. I'm trained to be a history and english teacher, but I've ended up as an art and design teacher at a small international school in southern Austria. I've been living here for about 11 years now, though I'm originally from Ohio in the US.

I have worked in the creative industries for over 30 years. I know that makes me sound old, but honestly, it’s a good thing. I studied Theatre Design at university in the UK before computers were invented so that meant we had to draw things and build things without the help of Photoshop or Google!
